University of Sunderland

The University of Sunderland has approximately 20,000 students at its four campuses worldwide, in Sunderland, London and Hong Kong, and with our international partners in 14 countries around the world.

Shortlisted as University of the Year, the leading category in this year's THE - Times Higher Education - annual awards, the University has a wide range of courses across its five faculties: Arts and Creative Industries; Business, Law and Tourism; Education and Society; Health Sciences and Wellbeing; and Technology.

In March 2018, the University was successful in their bid to open a new School of Medicine, with the first students starting their MBChB Medicine course in September 2019. With a track-record of excellence in medical education spanning almost 100 years, the University is now well-placed to address the chronic shortage of doctors in the North East.

The University's global partnerships, world-leading research, knowledge transfer partnerships with businesses, and collaborations with private and public regional leaders are focused on its key areas of strength: sciences, advanced manufacturing, software, enterprise and innovation and creative industries.

If you're considering studying in the North East, the University of Sunderland is a fantastic and well-respected education centre with a world of opportunities to explore.
