Houghton Feast 2026
A tradition that brings us together, Houghton Feast is back from Friday 2nd - Sunday 11th October 2026
For generations, Houghton Feast has been at the heart of community life in Houghton-le-Spring.
Taking place every October, this much-loved 10-day festival brings together residents, families, visitors and community groups to celebrate the unique heritage, culture and spirit of the town.
With roots dating back to the 12th century, Houghton Feast began as a dedication festival for St Michael & All Angels Church, celebrated as Michaelmas. Today, it remains one of the North East's most distinctive and enduring traditions, combining centuries of history with a vibrant programme of modern-day events and activities.
