Unfortunately, in some parks and greenspaces, some activity can make places look unattractive, dirty, unsafe and feel unwelcoming.

This can include any of the following:

•    Littering and flytipping
•    Dog fouling
•    Vandalism
•    Fires to property and trees
•    Unauthorised vehicles, e-bikes, motor bikes
•    Intimidating behaviour and gatherings.

Any of these types of anti-social behaviour can make people feel uncomfortable and put them off using and enjoying their nearby greenspace, plus it can be harmful to wildlife and dogs.

Greenspaces are for everyone to use and enjoy, no one should feel excluded due to this activity.

Connecting Through Nature is working with stakeholders in tackling these problems and finding different solutions, as we develop projects on local greenspaces in partnership with communities. Everyone can play a part and act now by reporting activities that you feel are unpleasant and will deter you from using and enjoying your park or greenspace.

All antisocial behaviour needs to be reported to the council, so we can deal with it.

If Sunderland City Council don't know about it, they can't sort it, so please report it.

Reported incidences will help the council build up a better understanding of what is happening and where. Deal with it in the short term and work collectively to put things in place, to reducing it in the longer term.

Reporting is easier than you think so please use the following links for the issues you are concerned about, next time you see something that isn't right.
