There's plenty for you to do while in Sunderland, as well as attending the match!

Away Fans - 1 Day Itinerary

Only got a day in Sunderland? Easy - you can still cram loads in.

Start your morning in Roker with breakfast at Fausto, Love Lily (famous for pancakes), or Tin of Sardines for a Full English with a sea view. After that, stretch your legs along Roker Beach and, if the weather behaves, walk out along Roker Pier. Keep an eye out for dolphins - they do show up now and again. Roker Park is right there too if you fancy a quieter wander.

Heading towards the ground, stop off at The Queen Vic or The Wolsey - both proper match‑day pubs. The Fans Museum is worth a look as well: loads of SAFC memorabilia and always buzzing on match days.

Before you hit the stadium, nip into Sheepfolds Stables for a pint and some scran.

Away fans go in via the North Stand, the stewards will point you in the right direction.

After the match, head over Keel Crossing into Keel Square for places like The Botanist, The Keel Tavern, Flower Café, and The Peacock. Or wander down High Street West for even more pubs and food spots.

Staying over? Check what's on at the Sunderland Empire or The Fire Station, or find some live music in town. Sunderland's a Music City, there's always something happening.

Away Fans - 2 Day Itinerary

Day 1

Start in Roker again where Fausto, Love Lily or Tin of Sardines will sort you out. Walk along Roker Beach, head out onto Roker Pier if the weather's decent, and keep an eye out for dolphins. You can even book a Roker Lighthouse tour if you want the full experience.

Grab a coffee and wander around Roker Park, then head down the coast to pick up the St Peter's Sculpture Trail. Public art, river views and a bit of Sunderland heritage all in one go.

If you've got time before the match, stop by St Peter's Church, one of the oldest in the country.

Then it's the classic pre‑match run: Fans Museum → Sheepfolds Stables → Stadium.

After the game, you're spoilt for choice. For food: Mexico 70, Aperitif, Babaji, Wildfire Pizza. For drinks: Port of Call, Flower Café, The Botanist, The Three Stories, The Dun Cow, The Peacock. Or head to Sunniside and check out Diego's Joint.

Day 2

Kick off day two in the City Centre at Mackie's Corner for breakfast bao buns at Pablos are unreal, or go for brunch at The Sofia if you want something more chilled (Full English included).

Then head to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens and go to the top floor where it's all about the city's shipbuilding history. From there, wander through Mowbray Park to see the Jack Crawford statue and the famous Walrus.

If you're after a Sunday dinner before heading home, Sunderland does them properly - huge Yorkshire puddings and all. Try Keel Tavern, Port of Call, Spent Grain, Rumour Has It, Ember, or Vitos (just over Keel Crossing).

If you just want something light, grab a drink or snack at Café Floriana, then finish up with a wander around The Bridges for any last‑minute bits before you head off.
