Halloween this year in Sunderland will be filled with spooks and ghouls all around the city with a number of events to enjoy, read on to find out how you and your family can get involved in all of the fun this Halloween!

WHEN THE MONSTERS TAKE OVER SUNDERLAND, THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

Sunderland city centre is a spooktacular place to be this Halloween!

From Friday 22 October until Sunday 31 October, take to the streets and find your favourite creatures hidden on landmark buildings. 

You will find a combination of fun inflatable and Augmented Reality Monsters in the form of an outdoor community trail for all. 

The monster trail can be downloaded via a bespoke app on to any smartphone, which will guide you to the various locations across Sunderland city centre.

The Mackem Monster trail and app will be available from Friday 22 October.

 

Halloween Community Parade is back on Friday 29th October, 5:30pm

The Halloween Community Parade is BACK and we can't wait to see all you ghouls there!

HUNDREDS of ghouls, ghosts and goblins will fill the streets of Sunderland with terror

The parade will leave the Museum and Winter Gardens and move through the city centre, before ending up at the Crowtree Site opposite New Look. 

The parade is being co-ordinated by North East carnival experts, Creative Seed CIC and supported by the Arts Council England.

AS IT IS THE SEASON FOR STORIES THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT, WE HAVE BEEN ON THE HUNT FOR THE SPOOKIEST SCARY STORIES YOU'LL EVER WRITE!

Sunderland's Spooky Stories is back with Sunderland Libraries and it's great to have David Turton back on the Judging Panel.

We are looking for your 500 words of mischief, mishaps and mayhem that are going to put a spell on our judges.

The categories are 5 - 9 years10 - 13 years and 14 - 18 years. It's easy to enter, and the rules are simple. Check it out HERE

Sunderland's Spooky Story competition coincides with Sunderland Literature Festival.
