Sunderland Festival of Light is one of Sunderland's most popular family events with illuminating light displays and fireworks every winter.

Sunderland Illuminations has been a local favourite in the North East calendar for many years. Now named Sunderland Festival of Light, this family-friendly occasion sees the dark winter skies lit up by the beautiful illuminating light displays, as well as colourful fireworks over the city.

This display has viewing points across the region including Cliffe Park and Roker Pier, and is free on selected dates and locations, while ticketed in others.

Every year since it began, there have been more attractions and more people drawn to this stunning showcase that brightens up the cold winter evenings in Sunderland.

As well as lighting displays and fireworks across Sunderland, guests in recent years have also enjoyed fairground rides, a roller rink and children's activities, making it a great experience for families with kids of all ages.

If you'd like to book tickets to the next Sunderland Festival of Light, you can purchase these directly through their website.
